Volunteers collect wreaths at Biloxi National Cemetery

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Volunteers were out at the Biloxi national cemetery Saturday morning. Last month, grave sites of men and women, who served our nation, were decorated with holiday wreaths. Several volunteers filled the cemetery collecting those wreaths to store until next Christmas.

Community Outreach Director Veronica Romano says they're very excited to continue this holiday wreath tradition.

"We plan on having fundraising events throughout the year and really getting in gear to getting all of these grave sites covered," Romano said.

Through fundraising a community outreach group was able to collect about 1,300 wreaths. Over the next three years, the group hopes to have all 18,000 veteran grave sites covered.
