NEWPORT BEACH, CA (WSFA) - The city of Newport Beach, CA feels like home with Auburn and Florida State banners and welcome signs all around town in the week leading up to the BCS National Championship.

Even though the big game will be played about an hour away in Pasadena, Newport Beach is considered the BCS hub. Both teams, media and many fans stay in the Newport Beach area, which is on the coast south of Los Angeles.

The game is said to have a $10 million economic impact on the city whose top industry is tourism.

Businesses, shopping centers and restaurants have rolled out the welcome mats for Auburn and Florida State fans.

Coming up on WSFA 12 News at 4, 5, and 6 reporter Melissa Johnson will have more details on the economic impact of the game and how the city has prepared to welcome fans.
