TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -

Four people are in the hospital after a New Year's crash just outside Maricopa city limits.

Pinal County Sheriff's deputies responded to a rollover accident around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday near Hidden Valley and Fulcar roads.

Upon investigation, the Vehicular Crimes Unit discovered the four occupants in the vehicle drank earlier in the day and did not wear seatbelts at the time of the rollover. One backseat passenger was a 13-year-old boy who had a blood alcohol level of .102, according to authorities.

The driver, 21-year-old Andrew Homer, was taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. His passengers, 22-year-old Jordan Lopez, 19-year-old Hector Medrano and the minor were transported to the hospital by air ambulance. Authorities said Homer and the 13-year-old had minor injuries, one passenger had serious injuries and another passenger was in critical condition.

Homer told police he just bought beer from the Farmer's Market and was traveling between 45 and 50 miles per hour when he lost control of the car.

Homer has a suspended Arizona drivers license, according to a news release. Depending on his blood results, authorities said he might face charges of aggravated assault, endangerment, aggravated DUI and providing alcohol to a minor once he is released from the hospital.
