For children who like to visit the Lynn Meadows Discovery Center, 2014 is already 24 hours old. Those children rang in the new year at noon rather than at midnight.
The party included everything from crafts and refreshments, to their very own ball drop at noon. And of course, there was lots of confetti.
Children of all ages came to bring in the new year with friends and family. The center has been holding this annual event for almost ten years. It has now grown to become a Gulf Coast tradition among families with bedtimes.
Kristen Moss said, "A lot of times, they're in bed when the ball drops at midnight, so we do a fun countdown to noon to get them involved."
This family friendly event will be happening again on New Year's Eve next year. All of the festivities are included in the museum ticket price.
