Construction closes D'Iberville bridge indefinitely

D'IBERVILLE, MS (WLOX) - The D'Iberville Boulevard bridge that crosses I-10 will be closed until further notice.

A statement from the D'Iberville Police Department says this closure is effective today.  Officers are encouraging drivers to use alternate routes.

The D'Iberville Blvd. bridge is the road many motorists use to enter the back side of the Promenade shopping complex.  It's closed while MDOT works on a new off ramp interchange for I-10.

The plan is to tear down that bridge, and rebuild it so it conforms with the new off ramp interchange.  Consequently, it will be at least several months before that section of D'Iberville Blvd. reopens.

Drivers trying to access the Promenade from Popp's Ferry Road must either use I-110 or Lamey Bridge Road.  People who live north of the interstate will still have access to the Promenade's back entrance.
