Biloxi family goes to Los Angeles for fitness challenge

A Biloxi family has been selected as one of five finalists to compete in a national contest in Los Angeles.

The Reed family is stationed at Keesler Air Force Base. The youth center there gave the Reeds the idea to enter the contest.

This is the fourth year for the Boys and Girls Club's Triple Play Fit Family Challenge. In the fall, families from all over the U.S. entered the fitness competition. After several phases and challenges, the top five families were chosen.

The Reeds will compete in Los Angeles on January 11th against the other four families in physical challenges like obstacle courses, a nutrition game show, and a skit competition. The overall winner will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Colorado Springs, Colorado to visit the Olympic training facility there.

Tracy Reed, the mother of the family, says that her husband, Wallace, is currently deployed. She has hope, however, that he will be back in time to go on their trip if they win.
