BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Don't know where you want to ring in 2014 yet? Well, you better act fast because hotels only fill up the closer you get to New Year's Eve.
That was the case for many coast hotels and motels including the Four Points by Sheraton where guests were steadily checking in.
"As you look at New Year's Eve weekend, New Year's Eve itself, this year it falls midweek and it's very popular," said Four Points by Sheraton Manager Kenny Glavan.
"People are going to be partying until the wee hours of the morning."
Glavan says his hotel is filling up with people from all over the country. Guest Bob Carmack drove with his girlfriend for eight hours from Florida to
Biloxi to spend New Year's on the coast.
"What a better time than New Year's to try something different," said Carmack.
"Neither one of us have ever been here before so this is it."
Like other out-of-towners, Carmack says he's looking forward to what he calls a New Year's adventure.
"I heard that the casinos are great here. They give you a lot of comps and it's a great place to come visit."
Not all guests plan on staying on the coast for New Year's. Others say they just wanted to spend their final weekend in 2013 doing something fun.
"I've never been to Mississippi before either so hopefully it's a good welcoming experience and I can stay out of trouble and have a good time," said guest Benito Hernandez.
"We were just driving through because we were planning to go to Florida and we just really like it here and we decide to stay here."
So if you haven't decided whether you plan to stay home or get a room for the holiday, you may want to act fast.
Glavan says the closer we get to 2014, the more expensive the rooms will be.
