The identities of the two people killed in a series of early morning car accidents on Interstate 10 in Jackson County have been released.
According to Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus, the victims were 27-year-old Ashley Bowens of Gautier, and Antraun Davis, 21, of Alabama. Broadus said Bowens and Davis were both heading to work in South Mississippi.
Moss Point Chief Keith Davis said the wreck happened near mile marker 68 just before sunrise. The victims apparently got out of their damaged vehicles and were hit by oncoming traffic.
Three other people were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The wreck could have involved as many as five cars.
