Traffic moving again after deadly wreck on I-10

Posted: Updated:
JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Interstate 10 is open again in Moss Point.  The city's police chief says wreckage from a multi-car pileup has been cleared off the interstate.  And cars are rolling again through Moss Point and Pascagoula.

Officers and tow truck teams have been at that scene since 5:45 this morning.  They responded to a multi-car wreck.

According to police, two people died in the series of collisions.  According to Chief Keith Davis, the victims apparently got out of their damaged vehicles just before sunrise, and got hit by oncoming traffic.

Three other people were taken to the hospital with what appears to be non-life threatening injuries.  As many as five cars were involved in the wreck near the 68 mile marker.

WLOX News has a crew on the scene and is learning more about the accident.  Look for details later today on TV and on line.
