OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

The Shed BBQ & Blues Joint in Ocean Springs now has another title, and this one comes thanks to its loyal customers: The Most Popular Bar in Mississippi.

The nationally known eatery, located just north of I-10 on Hwy 57, is listed in BuzzFeed.com's list of America's Most Popular Bars in 2013. The state-by-state choices are based on data collected by Foursquare showing the number of check-ins and overall ratings in 2013. The Shed received a rating of 9.0 out of 10.

BuzzFeed wrote, "It's not just a "joint," it's a destination. Get a platter of fall-off-the-bone ribs and a beer, and take in some live music (performers range from rock bands to blues musicians)."

Pat O'Brien's in New Orleans was named Louisiana's best bar, while Gallette's in Tuscaloosa took top honors in Alabama. See the complete list here: http://www.buzzfeed.com/christinebyrne/americas-most-popular-bars-in-2013
