Pankake, Greiner named to preseason honors list

COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Two South Carolina baseball players were named to a preseason honors list from Collegiate Baseball, according to the athletics department.

Junior catcher Grayson Greiner and junior infielder Joey Pankake earned second-team Preseason All-America honors.

Greiner played for Team USA this summer and was a 2013 second-team All-SEC selection. Baseball America ranks Greiner as the 24th best college prospect for the 2014 MLB Draft and the 2nd best catching prospect in the country.

Pankake, meanwhile, is one of the top returning hitters in the SEC and the country. Perfect Game USA ranks him 30th draft-eligible player for the 2014 MLB Draft.
