Crockett woman dead following rollover accident North of Trinity

LUFKIN, TX (KTRE) -

A Crockett woman died after losing control of her vehicle in Trinity County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, Karla Torres, 40, was driving North on State Highway 19, 2 miles North of Trinity, when she lost control of her vehicle.

Torres' 2002 Toyota Sienna crossed the center stripe and left the roadway before hitting a tree.

Trinity County Justice of the Peace, Bernie Beard, pronounced Torres dead at 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to the accident report, the roadway was wet and it was cloudy when troopers arrived on scene.

The body was taken to Waller-Thorton funeral home in Trinity.
