SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

A woman driving home after work in Springfield helped police capture two armed robbery suspects.

Police say Daevon Ramsey and Ashawn Whyte allegedly jumped a man who was walking on Island Pond Road around 2:30 Thursday morning.

According to police, during the assault one of the men pulled out a knife and robbed the victim of his cell phone.

A 34-year-old woman driving by the attack as it was happening stopped her car, flashed her high beams and blared her horn.

Police say when Ramsey and Whyte fled the scene she followed them and called 911, leading police to the suspects.
