More Canton election indictments

CANTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

A Madison County Grand Jury has indicted two people in connection with the Canton city elections, back in May.

Executive committee member Kimberly Readus faces one count of corrupt conduct by an election official and one count intimidating voters.

Canton ward 7 alderman candidate Cobby Williams is charged with one count of false registration of a voter. Both could be arraigned as early as Thursday.

In November, Readus was found guilty on three charges including stealing a ballot box and sentenced to 30 days in jail. That time was suspended.

She was also fined $950 and placed on one year probation.
