MPS approves process for superintendent appointments

On December 10th, the Montgomery Public School Board approved the process for superintendent appointments.

State law requires that the position be posted for at least thirty days and interviews are not required. The law also requires that a superintendent must be in place within 180 days of vacancy.

Since the process for appointments was approved during the meeting, the plan will be posted immediately Wednesday. After the applications are reviewed, the board will consider and vote.

A special meeting has been called for January 14th.

When asked if she was interested in the position this was Interim Superintendent Margaret Allen's response "I am very interested in supporting the board with its mission and so if it comes to that there is a possibility."
