Holiday party turns violent for couple

NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A holiday party turned violent overnight and a man is in jail facing serious charges.

Police said Michael Knepp severely beat his wife on the way home from a holiday work party.

Knepp was booked into jail around 12:30 Wednesday morning.

According to the arrest report, Knepp's wife confronted him about an affair at the holiday party late Tuesday night.

The couple continued arguing on the way home.

Finally she tried getting out of the car. That's when police said Knepp turned violent, punching her 20 times in the face and choking her until she was unconscious.

Knepp was charged with aggravated assault. Bond was set at $100,000.
