Is Marques Colston the most underrated wide receiver in the NFL?

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WLOX) - Veteran receiver Marques Colston snagged 9 passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns Sunday night. That's the 25th time in his 8 year NFL career he had 100 or more receiving yards in a game. Joe Horn holds the Saints all-time record with 27.

Quarterback Drew Brees and Colston have hooked up on 62 career touchdown receptions, moving the Saints duo ahead of San Diego's Phillip Rivers and Antonio Gates who have 61.

Colston is the first Saints receiver and the 87th player in NFL history to surpass 8,000 career receiving yards.

Is Colston one of the most underrated wide receivers in the NFL?

"He absolutely is one of the most underrated players in this league, has been for his entire career here,"stated Brees. "Let's go back to his first two years in the NFL. He was a 7th round draft pick and I think he had more passes and yards, definitely more catches than any other player in the history of the NFL in the first two seasons."

Brees slipped past Brett Favre into second place on the NFL's list of career games with four or more touchdown passes. He now has 24 and trails Peyton Manning who has 29 career games with four or more touchdown passes in a game
