Oyster reef reopens in Pass Christian

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

One of the oyster reef areas closed November 26 reopened Monday at legal sunrise. That's according to officials with the Mississippi Department of Marine Resources.

The following area and its subdivisions has reopened:

Area II "C" - Conditionally Approved Waters - and its subdivisions of 2 "E," 2 "F," and 2 "G," which includes southern portions of the Pass Christian and Henderson Point reefs, Square Handkerchief Reef and northern portions of the Pass Marianne and Telegraph reefs.

All other areas will remain closed to the harvest of oysters. All other oyster harvest rules and regulations will remain in effect.
