JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Capital Murder suspect Donta Shephard will remain behind bars on no bond. Shephard appeared before Judge Houston Patton this morning. He is accused in the November 17th death of Tony Brown at 824 Randall street.

A detective testified today Shephard, Jordan Johnson and Lucious Perkins entered through the window of the home using a crowbar and once inside fired at least eight gunshots.

The detective says Brown was shot at least seven times; twice in the abdomen, once in the arm and the other bullets striking his right leg.

Brown was able to call 9-1-1 after he was shot in the front room of the home. He died at the scene.
