Man killed in motorcycle wreck in Stone County

STONE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

One man is dead following a motorcycle crash Saturday night on King Bee Road at the intersection of O'Neal Road in Stone County.

According to Lt. Lewis Husband with the Stone County Sheriff's Office, the accident happened around 6:30 p.m. Lewis said it appears the man went off the road while driving around a curb. Then the man's Harley Davidson motorcycle flipped a few times. Lewis said the man was thrown off the bike and found 10 feet away from it on the intersection. The man was wearing a helmet and a jacket.  

Stone County Coroner Wayne Flurry says the 57 year old man from Stone County was heavily intoxicated. A blood alcohol test revealed that the man was more than twice the legal limit. No other vehicles were involved and no one else was injured. The man was pronounced dead at Stone County Hospital shortly after 7 p.m. due to multi systems trauma from the motorcycle crash.His identity won't be released until family members are notified.
