PASCAGOULA, MS (WLOX) - The lockdown at Cherokee Elementary School in Pascagoula has been lifted. The precaution was taken because of an assault that reportedly happened across from the school on Brazil Street.
Pascagoula Police tell WLOX News a man is in custody and he's accused of stabbing his girlfriend. The woman suffered a small wound, but police say it's not a life-threatening injury.
Pascagoula Police notified school leaders to end lockdown just a little while ago.
