Ocean Springs welcomes St. Nick to the city on Thursday

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - It will be a festive Thursday in Ocean Springs.  The city, the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce and the Historic Ocean Springs Association will host their annual tree lighting ceremony.

Marshall Park will come alive that night with Christmas lights, and holiday music.  The festivities begin at 6:00 Thursday night.

Entertainment will be provided by artists at Rock U2 Academy of Popular Music and the Macedonia Baptist Church Choir.  Other activities include making ornaments with the Mayor's Youth Council, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus.

"The City appreciates the partnership with HOSA and the Chamber of Commerce to present a special Christmas outing at Marshall Park," said Mayor Connie Moran. "We hope everyone will come enjoy this occasion that will build holiday memories of your child with Santa!"

This event is free and open to the public. However, attendees are encouraged to bring either a non-perishable food item or other donation for The Lord Is My Help.
