Holy Family sanctuary won't make its Christmas debut

PASS CHRISTIAN, MS (WLOX) -

We have an update on the construction of a new Catholic church in Pass Christian.  Holy Family Catholic Church on Menge Avenue was supposed to be finished in time for mass this Christmas.  However, a rainy summer delayed the construction project.

The dedication ceremony is now scheduled for January 25th.

Holy Family combines Our Lady of the Lourdes Church and St. Paul's Catholic Church.  St. Paul's once sat on Scenic Drive, overlooking the Mississippi Sound.  But, Hurricane Katrina destroyed that church.  Despite the wishes of several parishioners, the Catholic Diocese chose to rebuild that sanctuary on Menge Avenue.
