JONESBORO, AR (KAIT) - The 18th Annual MessiahSing was held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1, in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church in Jonesboro.

The sing-along Messiah Benefit Concert was free to the public.  Attendees were asked to bring a monetary gift or food donation for the Helping Neighbors Food Pantry and/or the Community Service Center, or winter coats and garments for the First Baptist Church Care Center.

"We have gone from about 500 families a month that I started with about five years ago to now we've gotten near 950 families a month," said Helping Neighbors Food Pantry Board President Paul House.

The concert featured Forum Symphonia, a professional string ensemble from Krakow, Poland.

Professional musicians from the Arkansas State University's Music Department also performed.

Other performers included Limmie Pulliam, a tenor from Kennett who recently placed 3rd in the 2013 Marcello Girodani International Vocal Competition in Italy; Dr. Marika Kyriakos, soprano soloist; Rebecca Lauren Craft, mezzo soprano soloist; Venus Dixon Hamilton, alto soloist; and Matthew Carey, baritone soloist.
