BROOKLYN, NY (RNN) - Kentucky scored two points in the first 20 seconds and never looked back, dominating Providence 79-65 at the Barclays Center.

The Wildcats (7-1) had only one scare with two minutes left in the first half when the Friars (7-2) tied it all up with 35 each. But Kentucky scored four more unanswered points before halftime. The Wildcats continued to dominate in the second half, outscoring Providence 40-30.

The Wildcats also dominated Providence in shooting, making 64 percent of their field goals, 75 percent of their eight 3-pointers and 76 percent of their 25 free throws.

James Young led Kentucky with 18 points, and Willie Cauley-Stein scored 15 points and led with eight rebounds.

Kentucky will play No. 18 Baylor on Friday, Dec. 6, as part of the Big 12 /SEC Challenge.
