Press release regarding Dunn murder

Released by the Marshall Police Department:

On Sunday, December 1, 2013 at approximately 11:18am, Marshall Police Officers responded to the 5300 block of East End Blvd South (Baymont Inn) in reference to a dispute. While responding to the location, MPD Dispatch advised that a subject had been hurt and Marshall Firefighters/EMT where en route as well. Upon arrival, officers located a female later identified as Kari Rene Dunn (DOB 02/09/1982) of Marshall who was unresponsive. Dunn was pronounced deceased by Justice of the Peace PCT #1 Meagan Pinson. After further investigation it was revealed that a younger child had been taken by the suspect who was identified as Brad Allen Dunn (DOB 04/03/1978. An Amber Alert was released at 1:16pm identifying the child that was taken as well as the suspect. A female driver who spotted a vehicle in Cass County, Texas that matched the information from the Amber Alert notified Cass County Sheriffs Department. A short time later Brad Dunn was in custody and the child was returned to her family. Brad Dunn was arrested by the Cass County Sheriffs Department for the charge of Murder.

With the help of Jackson County deputies, they arrested John Edward Dennis on a charge of burglary of an automobile.
