WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- A holiday train expo has kicked off in Wilmington and will run almost through Christmas.

The expo features model villages, parks, and landscapes.  The Cape Fear Model Railroad Society organized the annual tradition.

Farrell Teague, the president  of the society, said he loves running the exhibit.

"The biggest thrill that we get out of running trains, of all the effort we do in preparing and everything else, is when someone walks in and you see that expression on their face, a smile, a wow," explained Teague.  "That's what makes it all worth the while."

The Holiday Train Expo 2013 is at 705 S. Kerr Avenue. It will be open every Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. through December 22.
