Santa takes on new form at the Asgard Motorcycle Club Toy Run

BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - This holiday season, Santa Claus isn't the only one bringing kids toys on Christmas.

The revving engines didn't fool anyone Sunday afternoon, because behind the loud noise were people with big hearts.

"It's that time of year where everyone knows they want to do something, and this is the opportunity for them to do something to help those that needed the help and are less fortunate," said Asgard Motorcycle Club President Easy.

The 29th annual Asgard Motorcycle Club Toy Run drew in more than 1,000 bikers. All of them came bearing gifts that will provide many children with a Christmas.

"Without the public, without you people, we can't do anything," said Easy.

"We're just a group of guys that ride motorcycles."

From race cars to Barbie dolls, the back of a tractor-trailer was full of gifts that will go to catholic social services.

"The kids and Christmas, that's what it's all about, giving," said Chuck Nichols.

"It's really awesome. I mean, it does the heart good. You know, it gives you a great feeling. It doesn't get any better than that," said Farmer Debell, who has participated in the event, with the US Military Vets Motorcycle Club, for more than five years.

Then they all took off for Knights of Columbus to deliver the toys and provide a Christmas for those in need, reminding everyone that sometimes the biggest hearts come in the form of those dressed in leather, riding on two wheels with roaring engines.
