Teen possibly paralyzed after crashing into tree

RAYMOND, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Troopers believe a Clinton teenager, who crashed into a tree early Sunday morning, may be left paralyzed.

Mississippi Highway Patrol Captain Stephen Shows said the one car accident happened around 4 a.m. on Highway 18 at the Bass Pecan Orchard in Raymond.

The driver of the vehicle has only been identified as a 19-year-old.

The teen left the roadway and struck a tree.

Investigators said alcohol was involved. 

Shows said the teen could be paralyzed from the waist down and suffered serious injuries.

The unidentified teen was alone in the vehicle.
