PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS – After a rough start at the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament, the Tennessee Volunteers (5-2) finished strong, beating the Wake Forest Demon Deacons (6-2) 82-63 on Saturday.

The win gave the Volunteers a fifth-place finish at the tournament.

The game was a heated battle, with both teams combining for 50 personal fouls and 60-free-throw shots.

Forward Jarnell Stokes led the Volunteers in all statistical categories with 21 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block. Guard Darius Thompson contributed with 16 points and five rebounds off the bench.

Although Wake Forest was better from 3-point range, five-of-11 compared to Tennessee's four-of-11, Tennessee shot better from the floor (53 percent) and from the free through line (77 percent).

Their dominance over the Demon Deacons also came with points off the rebound – the Vols held their opponent 34-28 in rebounding edge.
