Springfield police investigating 2 Saturday robberies

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WSHM) -

Police are investigating an attempted robbery that happened on Worthington Street around 9 p.m. Saturday night.

They told CBS 3 that there was a victim with a head wound, as he fell and hit his head on the ground after being pushed.

The department was still waiting on the report from officers who were at the scene for more details.

Police are also investigating a report of a knife-point robbery.

CBS 3 media partner Mass Live and The Republican reported the incident happened outside of the Peter Pan bus station on Main Street around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Police said money was taken from the victim.

They said the suspect, who is believed to be a black male in his 30s, fled on foot toward the South End.
