Employee accused of hiding stolen cash in kitchen cabinet

OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) - An Ocean Springs man is in jail accused of stealing from his employer then hiding the money in a kitchen cabinet. On Friday, officers responded to a complaint at Leo's Wood Fire Pizza about $600 in stolen cash.

Officers said Keith Alan Robertson, 46, is accused of entering the manager's office, spray painting surveillance cameras, then taking money from the safe. Robertson is an employee of the pizza parlor but was off duty at the time of the incident.  Officers later located Anderson at a home on Russell Avenue. Police said he was wearing the same jacket seen in the surveillance video and the jacket had a white substance on it matching the color of the spay paint used on the cameras.

Officers said they were given permission to search the home. Inside a kitchen cabinet, officers found the money bag with the stolen cash.  Robertson was charged with commercial burglary and is in the Ocean Springs jail under a $10,000 bond pending a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 4th.
