United Way needs help spreading Christmas cheer

(WMC-TV) - The United Way of Independence County, Arkansas needs help giving gifts to about 500 children in need this year.

People can sponsor a child by picking up a wish list at several businesses in Batesville. The gift giveaway is three weeks away.

Executive Director Deanna Green says even if people do not want to shop for a child, they could at least give some money to the cause. The United Way needs to have all the gifts purchased and delivered by December 13 at the latest.
