A great program in South Mississippi ended last month a resounding success. The Mississippi Gulf Coast Honor Flight program took 592 World War II veterans to see their memorial in Washington, D.C.
Seven flights over the past two and a half years not only ferried the Veterans, but also provided escorts and made all the arrangements to assure successful trips. We commend and salute everyone involved in the program.
And to those of you who went to the airport for each return flight to give a hero's welcome, well done. The honor flight program lived up to its name as all involved truly honor these members of America's greatest generation.
