Oil change clinic manager shot in robbery attempt

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The Manager of the oil change business on Robinson Road Extension is still hospitalized today after being shot in a Tuesday evening robbery.

Employees at Car Care Clinic say Lee Cannant was locking up the business when he was approached by a black male armed with a handgun demanding money.

Employee Kevin Davis says, "He said I need to have the money!  I got to have it now!"

The gunman shot Cannant in the wrist then fled without getting any money.

Cannants workers say the bullet shattered the bone in his arm.

"The economy is so short now, everybody's doing what they can do to make money and I hate people have to turn to things like this to make money to provide for their families, but this is what it's come down to. It's just we got to better Jackson," says Davis.

Workers at the business say they believe the gunman watched the routine of the manager at the business, and waited to rob him.
