Eye clinic owner charged with Medicaid fraud

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The owner of a Jackson eye clinic has been indicted on Medicaid fraud charges. Clear View Vision Care owner Barbara Faye Jones turned herself in Tuesday.

The indictment alleges that Jones made fraudulent claims for more than $28,000 in Medicaid benefits. The claims were for eyeglass frames and prescription lens for some 142 Medicaid recipients.

If convicted, Jones faces 15 years in prison and $150,000 in fines.
