Picayune has used its ground game to run under the win column on the football turf

PICAYUNE, MS (WLOX) - Coach Dodd Lee's Maroon Tide love running the football and no one does it better than tailback Preston Dedeaux.

The senior has rambled up and down the football turf for 17-hundred yards, netting just over 7.5 yards per carry.

Coach Lee has nothing but high praise for Dedeaux both on and off the playing field.

Lee said,"Preston is just an outstanding young man number one. He's a great kid. He loves to play football. He's a good student and his teammates love him, his coaches love him and he's really one of the finest football players I've ever coached."

"The offensive line is doing a lot of good work,"stated Dedeaux.  He added,"Demarcus Haralson is the leader on the offensive line. He's going a great job."

A win over Laurel Friday night and the Maroon Tide would advance to the 5A State Championship game December 7 facing the Jackson Callaway-Oxford winner.

Picayune has won six consecutive games and have dominated the opposition after two playoff victories.

Dodd Lee guided the Maroon Tide to the 2011 5A State Championship and have the talent and the coaching to get it done in 2013.
