GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Michigan woman who was adopted at six months old met four of her five siblings in Greenville, SC, Thursday, six decades after her mother gave her up.

Nancy Jean Pearn always had a burning desire to know who her biological mother was. With the help of ancestry.com and another genealogical website, Pearn found an obituary with a picture of her uncle. It was the first time she had ever seen a biological relative.

"I just sat there and cried for about a half an hour. I just couldn't get over it," said Pearn.

Courage and glass of wine prompted her to contact her sister, who lives in Greenville. She reached out to her via Facebook. Melba Roland said she was shocked when she found out she had an older sister.

The phone call with Pearn brought tears of joy.

"I said 'Hello, I'm Melba ... and she said, Oh my!'" said Roland. "I think we both cried a little bit at that point."

Pearn decided to fly down to Greenville to meet the rest of her siblings. It was a joyous reunion, and the group ate at Cracker Barrel on Woodruff Road, and caught up on 63 years of life.

Nancy had a nagging feeling that she would not be accepted before she came, but now she feels part of the family.

"You always have that 'Will they accept me? Do they want any part of me? Do they want to even know me? Did they know anything about me before?'" said Pearn. "I think I fit in fine! I speak a little different but that's all!"

She said she is excited to introduce her newfound brothers and sisters to her family in Michigan and develop a meaningful relationship with them.
