NASHVILLE, TN (WSMV) -

A Metro officer was hurt while trying to make an arrest overnight.

The officer says he was attacked by a teen during a search and ended up having to use his Taser to protect himself.

According to the affidavit, the officer stopped 19-year-old Brandon Moyers at the intersection of Anderson Road and Gallatin Pike North for underage drinking after police received a call from a resident saying Moyers was urinating in public.

While the officer was patting him down, Moyers allegedly resisted arrest and head-butted the officer.

Moyers faces seven charges, including felony aggravated assault on an officer.

The officer was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to get stitches and have his head checked out but has since been released.
