GAINESVILLE, FL (RNN) – With the help of a formerly suspended and now ill transfer, the No. 11-ranked Florida Gators (2-1) beat the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans (0-2), 86-56.

Sophomore guard Dorian Finney-Smith, battling a virus that has caused him to lose 10 pounds in a week, scored 17 points in a 16-minute span of the second quarter. The 6'8'' transfer from Virginia Tech also added nine rebounds to his performance. Finney-Smith was benched two games for breaking team rules.

Florida's leading scorer was senior forward Casey Prather, who scored 27 points and had five rebounds and five assists in the contest. The Gators had four players – including Finney-Smith off the bench – to score in double digits.

The Trojans were dismal on the floor, going 22-for-61 from field goal range and hit 18 percent of their 3-point shots. They were much better at the free throw line, hitting 83 percent of their shots from the line.

Florida's next game will be against the Southern Jaguars in Gainesville Monday.
