BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Some Coast car buffs showed off their wheels for a cause Saturday. It was the first annual American Legion Post 139 Car and Truck Show.
Car enthusiasts from several local and out of state classic car clubs took part in the event.
More than 50 cars and trucks filled the parking lot of the Bay St. Louis American Legion Post. The car and truck show was a fundraiser for the American Legion, and for several causes close to the Legionnaire hearts.
"We don't do Bingo anymore, so this is the kind of fund raisers we can do," said Post Commander Carol Jacobson.
"We're raising money for veterans programs such as scholarships, veterans children's programs and my passion is Soldiers Angels. Miss Granny does such an awesome job with her fishing trips but it cost money, so we wanted to help her."
Ten Veterans housed at the Biloxi VA spent most of the day at the event, as part of the VA's on-going program to keep vets active and get them out into the community.
