(RNN) - The Muscles from Brussels shows he can still do his signature splits in a YouTube ad for Volvo Trucks.

Jean-Claude Van Damme became an action star in films like Bloodsport, Kickboxer and Double Impact. In the 1:17-long clip, he shows off his flexibility by standing with a foot on the side mirrors of two trucks going in reverse as they steadily drift apart.

The commercial, which has been aired on TV overseas, is meant to display the Swedish automaker's Dynamic Steering feature.

"I've had my ups and downs, my fair share of bumpy roads and heavy winds - that's what made me what I am today," Van Damme says in voiceover as Enya's Only Time plays. "Now, I stand here before you.

"What you see is a body crafted to perfection, a pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physics and a mindset to master the most epic of splits."

The video has become a hit online, with more than 7.6 million views since it was published Wednesday.

"This man has still got it," commenter Liz Eberhardt said. "I am not sure how much of it is an 'illusion,' but whatever. It's very impressive."

Van Damme and Volvo declared in a statement Thursday that the stunt was real. The actor declared the ad "quite unusual" and "the first time we'll ever see anything like it in a movie or commercial."

"Before doing the split between the trucks, I saw the storyboard and thought it looked amazing," he said. "It's very majestic and very powerful."
