Two arrested in Morton shooting

MORTON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -
A Morton couple is arrested in connection with a shooting. It happened on North Boykin Street just after 5 p.m on Thursday.

Morton police say Keyara Culpepper, 22, and Jermaine Washington, 26, got into an argument while she was visiting a relative. Investigators say Culpepper left to inform her boyfriend, 22 year-old Jeffrey Norwood, about the disagreement. 

Investigators say Culpepper and Norwood returned to the location, that's when another argument ensued and gunfire erupted. 

Norwood is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $100,000.

Culpepper is charged with accessory to aggravated assault. Her bond was set at $10,000. 

Washington is in stable condition at University Medical Center in Jackson. 

Witnesses helped officers identify the suspected gunman.
