OXFORD, MS -

(OXFORD, MS) - A former sheriff's deputy, who is charged in a double murder, was denied bond by a judge Tuesday morning.

Regis Mister is charged with two counts of murder in the shooting deaths of his mother, Dr. Carol Gary, and his half-brother Patrick Gary, Jr.

The two were found shot in the family's home in Oxford on November 8, 2013.

According to Oxford police, Mister is the person who reported the deaths.

Investigators have not released a motive.

Mister had previously worked at the Yalobusha County Sheriff's Department and was also employed as a school resource officer.

After Lafayette County Justice Court Judge Mickey Avent denied bond, Mister was escorted back to the detention center.

Family members asked for privacy but inside a few cried and told Mister they loved him as he was taken back to jail.

The case will now go before a grand jury.

The visitation for both Carol and Patrick Gary Jr. is Friday afternoon at Eddie Robinson Funeral home in Grenada. Funeral services will be at the Water Valley Civic Auditorium at 11 a.m. Saturday.
