SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Three cold weather shelters are open for those who need a warm place to sleep this week when temperatures dip.
Old Spanish Trail Baptist Church in Hancock County opened at 4pm Tuesday afternoon and will remain open until 9am Wednesday. The church shelter is on the service road off of Highway 90 just west of Lower Bay Road by the scrap yard.
The Salvation Army has two shelters open in Harrison and Jackson counties.
The Gulfport shelter is located at the Salvation Army Area Command Headquarters at 2019 22nd Street. Check in started at 4pm at that location.
The Pascagoula shelter is at the Salvation Army of Jackson County at 3217 Nathan Hale Ave. Check in is available all day at that location.
Dinner will be provided for those staying the night.
