JACKSON COUNTY, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Funeral services were underway Saturday for Laterry Smith at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home.

Services were scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday.

Smith, 34, was one of three family members who were found dead on November 5, in Copiah County.

Copiah County Coroner Ellis Stuart said the three bodies found inside an abandoned house Tuesday were those of the missing family. Stuart also said all three were shot.

The other two family members were seven-year-old Jaidon Hill and his mother 30-year-old Atira Hughes Smith. Atira and Laterry were married.

Timothy Burns, the first person arrested in the case, is being held without bond. He is charged with arson and two counts of murder.

Cedric Mason, the second man arrested in connection with the murders of the family, has been denied bond in Copiah County Justice Court. Mason is charged with capital murder.

Mason was on parole from the Mississippi Department of Corrections on a marijuana possession charge.

The funeral services for Atira and Jaidon are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Brandon.
