FBI investigating human trafficking, prostitution at northwest Ohio massage parlors

Posted: Updated:
TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -

Three massage parlors, two of them local, are being investigated by the FBI.

The allegation is that customers are paying for more than just a massage.

An FBI affidavit shows the parlors in Cleveland, Findlay and Toledo were raided on Wednesday. The FBI says it found evidence of human trafficking and prostitution.

The Toledo parlor is Top Relax Massage on Reynolds Road in the Diamond Plaza near Glendale Avenue.

Graphic details in the affidavit say customers at the three parlors would undress and get under a sheet. Female Asian employees who did not speak English would touch the male customers in a sexual way.

The affidavit goes on to say FBI sources confirmed the activity during visits in July and August.

In the Wednesday raids, visas, passports and employment records were seized, confirming evidence of prostitution and trafficking. Top Relax Massage remained open for business Thursday night.

Toledo News Now talked to Bradley Bohnert, who says his wife owns the three parlors. Mr. Bohnert admits there's been illicit sexual activity in the parlors, claiming he and his wife have no control over what happens behind closed doors, but when they find out, the masseuse involved is fired.

Bohnert says he is sorry for what happened and says Top Relax Massage is not involved in any illegal activity anymore.

No charges have been filed in the case. The FBI did not return a call from Toledo News Now for comment.
