FBI arrests two NOPD officers charged with wire fraud

NEW ORLEANS, LA (WWL-TV) -

According to WWL-TV in New Orleans, the FBI arrested two NOPD officers on wire fraud charges.

Detective Rafael Dobard, 39, and Officer Quincy Jones, 33 of the NOPD's Fourth District Narcotics Unit are accused of submitting time sheets to the NOPD and the Housing Authority New Orleans (HANO) with overlapping work periods. The FBI says it was an attempt to get payment from both departments for the same periods of time.

WWL-TV reports the FBI believes that both officers were also stealing money that was intended for investigation purposes.

The officers were immediately placed on emergency suspension and were taken into federal custody.
