MORGAN CITY, LA (WAFB) -

A man wanted on allegations he used counterfeit money at a store three years ago was arrested Tuesday.

The St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office reported Frank Roberts Sr., 46, of Maurice, was taken into custody on a warrant for monetary instrument abuse.

Deputies said he was transferred from the Terrebonne Parish Jail to be booked into the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center on the warrant.

He is accused of using more than three dozen fake $20 bills at a store in Bayou Vista in 2010.

Detectives said they used surveillance video to identify Roberts. They added he is suspected in several nearby parishes for using counterfeit twenties.
