Former plant manager sentenced for environmental crimes

BATON ROUGE, LA (WAFB) -

A former plant manager was sentenced for illegally dumping waste from a now-closed wastewater treatment facility.

The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) said Jeffrey Dabadie, 44, was sentenced to one year of home incarceration for illegally discharging waste from Armant Environmental Services in Vacherie.

DEQ said he pleaded guilty to three counts of knowingly violating the facility's Louisiana Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.

Judge Alvin Turner Jr. handed down the sentence. The home incarceration will be electronically monitored.
